PAYMENT

What are your payment policies?
Payment via Cash, MasterCard or Visa is due at the time of your massage service. Debit Cards with the MasterCard/Visa logo are also accepted. Checks are currently not accepted.

What about tips?
Massage therapy is a personal service and while never expected, gratuities are always very sincerely appreciated. If you do wish to leave a monetary tip, depending on the expertise and relief you experienced, a tip of 10-20% is the standard benchmark. If you have a gift certificate, I will have written "prepaid tip" if the purchaser left one.

Do you ever have specials or discounts?
Yes, all the time! There are lots of fun and simple ways to save money on your next massage.

1. First-time clients always receive some sort of freebie just for coming in to see what barefoot massage is all about. It could be $10 off, it could be a complimentary consultation, or it could be an extra 15 minutes on the table. Check the Gratitude page to see what this month's current special is!

2. If you are an existing client, a great way to save some cash is by providing me with your email address. I frequently send out special discounts, usually around your birthday, holidays and special dates. These offers are good for $10 –$20 dollars off, depending upon the occasion.

3. The best way to save is with Gratitude Rewards™– for every friend you tell about me, and she comes and gets a one-hour or longer massage, you'll receive 15 minutes toward a free session. Who knew having the gift of gab could be so rewarding and feel so good?

Do you sell gift certificates?
Of course! You may purchase your gift certificate online where you can print it for immediate gifting, or by calling 704.962.6400. It can be mailed to you or to the recipient. Gift certificates for massage therapy are perfect for loved ones, ladies deserving that extra amount of appreciation and those who you simply want to give a memorable, heartfelt gift. All certificates come with a one-year window from the date of purchase to be redeemed.

I have a Gift Certificate and I'm not a woman!? OH NO!
Not to worry!!! At the end of Summer 2007, Celestial Soul was restructured to provide professional massage therapy exclusively to female clients. I continue to have a solid base of existing male clients, and of course I honor all Gift Certificates sold prior to the change.

Are you certified and/or licensed?
Absolutely. I currently have over double the amount of education required to become licensed and nationally certified. I am licensed through the State of North Carolina as a Massage and Bodywork Therapist, certified through the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork, and a Professional Member of the American Massage Therapy Association, the most established massage association in the United States. You can read more about me on my Biography page.

Do you file insurance?
No, I am not affiliated with insurance companies, so I do not file paperwork or claims. I am a participating member of AdvoCare, a wellness program for employees of the Parker-Hannifin / Domnick-Hunter Corporation. Several major employers around Charlotte offer a wellness benefit for professional massage therapy. Please check with your Human Resources Department to confirm your eligibility.

APPOINTMENT POLICIES

Do I need a reservation for my massage?
Yes, all massage therapy services need to be scheduled prior to your arrival. If you have a preference for a day or time, about a week in advance is recommended, especially on busier days around the weekend and holidays. Because life’s stress and pain don’t keep to a predictable schedule, there are on occasion same-day or next-day appointments open - simply give me a call and I will let you know what I have available.

Do you offer weekend and evening appointments?
Absolutely. I have massage appointments available every day of the week, excluding Sundays. I take appointments as late as 7:00 (60 minutes) during the week, and 4:00 (60 minutes) on Saturday.

When should I arrive for my massage?
It is suggested that you arrive no more than 5 minutes before your scheduled treatment, as you will have plenty of time to update your health history and enjoy some pre-massage goodies, such as sweets and a fresh glass of water before your session begins.

What if I arrive late for my appointment?
Arriving late will simply limit the time for your treatment and your massage will end at the scheduled time, so as not to inconvenience the next client. You will be responsible for payment for your entire reserved session.

What if I need to change or cancel my massage?
It is necessary that you understand this policy, as it is a very important aspect of my practice. Please be respectful that a great amount of energy and preparation goes into each massage session and that several other people may have requested the time reserved for you. A minimum of 24 hours notice is required to avoid cancellation fees. If less notice is given, half of your scheduled fee will be billed to you unless your reserved time can be rescheduled with a different client. If something does come up, consider sending a friend or loved one in your place so that they may enjoy the benefits of massage therapy.

How long of a massage should I get?
I offer several different session lengths so you get the perfect massage based upon your individual needs. For a full-body treatment with no areas of special attention, 60 minutes is ideal. If you want to focus on one or more problem areas in addition to receiving a full-body session, 90 minutes is recommended in order to complete a thorough treatment.

How often should I receive a massage?
This all depends on the state of health you would like to maintain, or the nature of pain and discomfort that you are feeling. Once a month is recommended for those who want to relax, keep their muscles supple, prevent injuries and maintain their current health. Twice a month is ideal for those who want to take care of old or new areas of discomfort, or those needing to catch up on chronic pain that is beginning to affect their daily lives. Four times a month is reserved for those who have constant discomfort or are in the middle of a pain relief treatment program. These of course are guidelines and depend completely upon your body and your individual goals.
