Barefoot massage, traditionally performed with the therapist holding onto bars on the ceiling for stability and using her feet and legs for pressure, has been brought to the United States from Japan and India, where it has been practiced for thousands of years. “There are many forms of barefoot techniques and I tend to go in and out of using my feet and hands, depending on what would best benefit my client,” says Celeste. She focuses entirely on the client's specific goals for the session, whether it is relaxation or pain relief, as barefoot therapy is completely suited for both depending on how she modifies her strokes and pressure. She says her years of experience in both spas and clinics has helped her develop her unique concept, as she is known for combining a customized and effective treatment while blending premiums that are typically reserved for spas.
